There are a number of historical tourist attractions and ancient landmarks in the city, of which Narva Castle is the most popular and famous. Tourists regularly visit Narva Castle, where excellent riverfront views can be enjoyed. If you take a stroll around the actual castle grounds themselves, you will find an important statue of Vladimir, which is actually the only remaining Lenin monument of its kind remaining completely intact in the whole of the Baltics.

The rather splendid Old Town Hall is another of Narva's most famous tourist attractions. Look up and at the very top of the Old Town Hall you will spot a much-loved weathercock, in the form of a crane, which is gold-plated and a symbol of the city. Stone figures grace the exterior and represent the important principles of equity, moderation and wisdom.

One of the main attractions and landmarks in the city is without doubt the rather imposing Narva Castle, which was constructed towards the end of the 13th century by the Danish. Narva Castle enjoys a riverside setting next to the border, and actually stands directly opposite Russia's Ivangorod Fortress, making a matching pair. The castle itself suffered bombing damage during the Second World War and was thoroughly restored soon after. The Long Hermann Tower is hard to miss and is around 51 metres / 167 feet in height.

Narva Tourist Attractions: Old Town Hall (Raekoja Väljak) - Narva, Estonia, EE
The Old Town Hall is known locally in Narva as the Raekoja Väljak and dates back to the early 1670s, being built at the request of King Charles XI of Sweden. Featuring Baroque-style stone architecture and three floors, attractions at the Town Hall include a large clock face, no less than eight Tuscan-style pilasters, and an elaborately decorated interior, with many beautiful wall paintings and ceiling girders.

Narva Tourist Attractions: Voskresensky Cathedral (Bastrakovy Tänav) - Narva, Estonia, EE
An important landmark in Narva, the Voskresensky Cathedral is located on the northern side of the railway station and was built at the very end of the 19th century by Otto Gippius, an acclaimed architect of the time, making it well over 100 years old. The beautiful Russian Orthodox cathedral is close to an important monument, which remembers the large numbers of Estonians who were deported to Siberia here on cattle wagons, at the beginning of the 1940s.
